Ruffian walked along an old Human path, swishing her tail around. The Air around her was still and quiet. It seemed almost unnatural. She shook her head at the thought. "Unnatural, right, maybe I've been by myself too long." She laughed to herself. She heard a branch crack, she stopped quickly and turned her ears in direction of the sound. "Who's there?!" She neighed, stomping her hoof loudly to make a point.
Her ears folded back to starred intently at the direction the sound came from. "Who's There?!?!" She repeated, her voice sounded tense.

Threw the thick path that was traveled by many so many years before a blue roan stud now walks. His soften kissers pressed against the soften earth as he walks. His tail flicks at the pesky flies that lands upon his rump. His nares widen, taking in the faintest of scents. His audits perked, picking up the tinyest of sounds. As he plants his hoof he lands upon a dried twig that broke in half and lets off a loud Crack. He threw his dome up and lets out a snort as he came to a halt. His solid 15 hands might not seem tall but for a quarter horse it is. His audits picked up a slight voice within the forest. An Equine. He was for sure. He threw his dome up once again. He hasn't come in contact of any of his kind in ages. He did however, keep control and replied to the equine in a soften lyric. " I am ". That was all that came out of this studs kissers. It was quiet, maybe to quiet. The only noise was the sound of their breathing and a faint chirping of a lone cricket in the distance. He waits for the mares response.

"And who are you?!" Ruffian says trotting towards the voice. She snorts a laugh as she sees a short stud standing there. "Why, aren't you pathetic looking." she says with a snort. She lowered her head so it was level with the studs. The one hand difference between the two of them wasn't much but her long black neck made her seem much taller them him. She had a smug look on her face as her deep red eyes perced his pelt. She waited for his response. The Small horse reminded her of her brother. He was smalled then she was but a lot more violent then she was. He had killed there father a few months before she left him. She shooked the memory away quickly. She had always been close to her father and was devisdated when she found him dead.

" I'm Known as Kuruk " He said as he scanned the thick branches and tall trunks of the mighty trees. His emerald orbs then spotted her coming towards him at a trot. Be began to walk towards the direction she was coming. His blue roan coat seemed to appear a little duller then usual. However, his green orbs shined. He listens as the mare speaks. He lets out a tiny chuckle as he speaks. " Thats what they all say." Kuruk was always smaller then the equines that he had met in the past. But they came to the same thought. How pathetic. How small. How weak. Hes use to it by now and doesn't let it get to him these days. He shook his dome as he asked a question. "May I ask for your name?" He spoke. The cricket that had chirped before has now died down and now a bird begins to sing. He ignores the noises around him and turns his attention to the mare that stands before him.

"My name is Ruffian." She says shaking her thick, long black mane. "What is a horse like you doing wondering around here?" She askes walking around him in circles. The Little bird chirping was annoying her. She spotted it behind her in a tree. she quickly turned and went up in it's face. neighing. Surprised it flew off in the opposite direction. She snorted and shook her head agian. "Stupid bird." She murmered to herself.

" Nice to met you, Ruffian." He said with a dip of the dome. His emerald orbs glanced up at the air above. Only a few of the suns rays managed to find its way threw the thick leaves and long branches. His shook his dome before turing back to the mare who called her self Ruffian. " Just wondering. " He replied to her question. What was he doing here? Even he doesn't know. He stomped his hoof at the flies that landed upon him. He watches as she makes her way towards the bird who chirps in annoyance. He lets out a tiny snort, as it was bothering him to. As the frighten bird flies away he hears Ruffian mutter to herself. " You Got that right." He spoke with a tiny grin. He always had a sense of humor and never lets anything get to him. He glanced over his shoulder to find no one, only dead leaves and fallen logs. He turned back to her. She was indeed taller then him, only by a single hand, but her black neck did make her look larger then him. He waits to see if she will response to his reply.

"oh..." She said, "Going anywhere in Particulare or just wondering?" She didn't wait for his answer, instead she walked in the direction she had been origanly heading. When she reached the bend she looked back at him and said, "Well, are you coming?" She tilted her head in the direction she was heading. She didn't look back to see if he would fallow her. She wasn't in the mood to just stand around and talk. Infact she was never in the mood to just stand around and talk. Her Brother hated that quality. Her father had never just stood around and talked he was always moving. She wasn't sure but that might have been the reason her brother had hated that quality, because it was a quality her father had.

His audits perked when she speaks. " Just wondering." He replied as his emerald orbs scanned threw the trees, looking for nothing you can say. He stomped his darken pillar and cracked the dried twig that laid under him. A flashback overcame him...
... It was a day like every other. The stud known as Kuruk was just a foal and was enjoying the sunlight that laid on his fluffy pelt. His mother laid by his side, and his sire stood in the distance. But then the unthinkable happened, as his orbs shut and his mind drifted into a faraway land something happened. His Herd. It disappear. He couldn't believe it, a tiny foal in this big world. He don't know how he survived that first year, but he did...
As his mind snaps back to reality he notices that Ruffian is now in the distance. He shook his dome, chasing the flashback away. "sure" He said as he trotted after her. As the moments ticked by he reached her side and began to walk.

"So why are you out here, all alone?" Ruffian asked as Kuruk reached her. How strange she thought to herself, I've totally forgot about my brother, but know see this horse that has no resemblance to him what so ever, I think of him. She rolled her eyes at the thought. How pathetic am I? She thought. She chuckled at the thought.
Her brother, Deathsong, was a big black stallion. He had black eyes and never took no for an answer. In the 3 years she had been with him he had hurt her in so many different ways. Her head sunk at the memories of her father's death and the abuse she took from her brother. She remembered the promise she had made to herself. She would take Revenge on her father, no matter what! She was bigger and Stronger then Deathsong. She knew she would be able physically to kill him. But would she mentally be able to? She sook her head at the thought. I have to kill him!! She thought to herself.
The wind started to blow and her long, black mane flew in the wind. The silence was replaced by the sound of the wind howling through the trees and long grass. "What a beautiful sound." She whispered, more to herself then to Kuruk. Stopped and let the wind blow through her mane and tail. She loved the feel of the wind through her mane. It alway calmed her no matter what got her upset.

!i! My carcass shivered slightly as I felt a gust of wind batter into my side. This land certainly was windy, yet it offered everything that I would need for my shirt time here. As another blast of wind hit me, I gazed at the ocean of green all around me. It was breathtaking, no one could ever attempt to say that its not. Well anyone in their right mind wouldnt. Snorting, I inhaled deeply, letting the oxygen expand my lungs. Each new scent that entered my nares was different. The smell of the fresh grass, the scent of the rivers of to the east, and certainly the fresh earthly scent. As another gust of wind tried to buffet me, I let my pistons carry me into a two beat. My pelvis rolled easily with each footfall, as I trotted in the direction of a small group of trees.
!i! Breath cames out alittle hurried as I slid to a gentle stop. Certainly it was turning into something more then a 'slight breeze'. I let my stilts carry meint a brisk walk. My carcass turned gracefully through the small clump of trees untill I was in a small glade. There was only about room for two beings. Yet it was the perfect place to shelter from the wind. Hopefully that would die down soon. I sighed and I let my pistons give way underneath me. As I layed down, my mind turned back to a year ago. When I met that stallion, and yes I am glad I did. For then I wouldn't be here today, and I wouldnt be the person I was today.
!i! That guy, he mended my heart then tore it to peices as he gradually got bored of me. Still now it was broken, but not as much as it was then. Though when I followed him, atleast I found out what he really was. A player and a pimp. Going from one mare to another, impregnating them. Just so he could get his genes everywhere, the ignorant. Each of those mares he spent time with would now have to raise a child alone. Yet each one proberly knew that they where better of without him. Glad am I, glad that I didn't have that special 'time' with Bomber. For then I would truelly be left in peices. I shook my tiara, I had to get those thoughts out of my head. For those memories where the past. I had to concentrate on the future.
!i! I lifted my skull to the tree tops. Each leaf was tinted with brown, yellow, red even gold. Each one was as beautiful as the last. Each one was yet unpolluted by what went on around them. I gently placed my tiara on the soft earthen ground. I might as well sleep untill the wind died of, then I would make my announcement. My twin soldiers still picked up the roaring that surrounded the clump of trees that I sheltered in. Sighing, I let my eyelids slowly droop as I entered a deep slumber.
!i! I awoke with a start, not remembering where I was. Outside it was silent, atlast the winds had stopped. The silence was definatly favoured by my harks then the droaning that was going on earlier on. I let out a joyful scream as my carcass started moving. There I twisted and turned through the closely grown trees. Soon enough I was out in the open again, where everything was still. Only the occasionable breeze ruffled my tassels at the knee high grass that surrounded the claiming grounds. The mares that where dotted around the place where in couplets. Either with a stallion or siblings. Now it was my time to wait, for I knew that someone would come. Something in my american paint blood told me so.

With the Wind blow a scent drifted toward then. Another horse. Might as well see who it is. She though to herself. She gave Kuruk a quick glance telling him she was going to investigate and she left galloping toward the scent. Her ears lay flat as she galloped, letting the wind fly over her smooth body without Resistance. The wind played with her mane and tail as she ran. A feeling playfulness crept up inside her and she let out a buck. She laughed to herself and kept running. She red eye showed her the way through the field, over hills and around trees. She felt free, wild, untameable, and powerful. As she ran a song her father would sang pushed it's way into her memories. SHe started singing it aloud,
"Like a gift from the heavens, it was easy to tell, It was love from above, like it saved me from hell, She had fire in her soul it was easy to see, And the devil himself could be pulled out of me, There were drums in the air as she started to dance, Every soul in the room keeping time with there hands, And we sang..."
It was a human song he would sing to her, one of many, but it had been my favorite.
"Ay oh ay oh ay oh ay, And the voices bang like the angels sing, We;re singing; Ay oh ay oh ay oh ay, And we danced on into the night, Ay oh ay oh, Ay oh ay oh, And we danced on into the night..."
She couldn't remember what he had called it, but she remembered every line of the song. She smiled as she sang the song.
After a minute she slowed and saw a Gray horse standing there. She let out a welcoming whinny and waited for an answer. Was this horse friendly? She suddenly thought to herself. Even if the horse wasn't friendly she was sure she could defend herself and win the battle. She slide down the steep hill she was atop and stood in front of the horse. Her mane flew freely in the wind, and her red eyes seamed to glow in the sunless field, making her look wild, untamable, and a little fierce. She pawed the ground anxiously waiting for the grey's answer.
